Alan's Update Blog! - March 2021

November 2019 was a long long time ago! There was a different normality then and very few people - other than scientists perhaps - could have fully predicted what March 2020 onwards (until today even!!) would bring.

Well, we all know now. The past 12 months have been so, so difficult for everyone around the entire globe. We have suffered, we have worried, we have been overwhelmed….and still we are under pressure as a community.

Yet there have been many pluses, many acts of kindness and selflessness. There have been numerous examples of positive organisational partnerships - charity & business acts of togetherness - individuals and groups going “the extra mile” to help each other. The Settlement team has been doing their bit, performing their part, caring and sharing without regard to personal gain or reward. I have been so proud of them all - so proud to be part of a progressive community effort - so lucky to have such a supportive Board of Trustees - so grateful to our funders (both existing and new sources).

Tomorrow will be a better day (thank you, Sir Tom Moore). Let’s all keep smiling and STAY SAFE. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
