June 2024 Youth Health & Well-being Blog

In April this year our [Insert Name Here] Youth Group, comprised of 8 young people aged 14-17, participated in an action-packed, week long International Youth Exchange Activity Programme in Wurzburg, Germany. Having supported many of the young people in our group since their primary school years, this trip was long overdue. It was fantastic for Sandra and myself to witness the way our young people conducted themselves throughout our time in Wurzburg together. They did themselves and Grey Lodge proud and we are now looking forward to hosting our new German friends in April 2025 for leg 2 of our Dundee/Wurzburg Exchange Project. Roll on more fun times!!

We would also like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Cory Stewart, Sonni Christie and Ben Murray. These 3 2nd Year St. John’s RC High School pupils, who again have been participating in Grey Lodge Projects (our Afterschool Club and Youth Project) since primary school age have gone above and beyond in order to secure £3000 for Grey Lodge Settlement via The Wood Foundation and The Northwood Charitable Trust Youth Philanthropy Initiative. We are extremely impressed with the dedication, commitment and passion they have shown. They spent many many hours working on a film and presentation to promote Grey Lodge to the judges and an audience of 200+ young people. Thankfully all of their hard work paid off and they scooped up 1st PRIZE!!! Emotions ran high and there were a few tears of joy shed by the youngsters, Alan, George and myself. We are so grateful and proud of the guys. It’s absolutely fantastic to be appreciated and supported by those we support. With young people like you involved in our projects, Grey Lodge Settlement’s future is for sure shaping up to be BRIGHT! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
