Easter 2025

This year has started off well for our Youth Project. So far our 2025 Initiatives include: Snowsports, Drama, Horseriding, Hill Climbing, Public Speaking, Cooking and Bouldering. We have also set up a Youth Research Team and at present those involved in this are reseraching Grey Lodge Settlement’s history. …which is proving to be fascinating.

Several of our young people participated in our Annual Sponsored Jailbreak in March ahich raised over £10,000 for our charity. Lots of laughter and smiles were shared throughout this event as always! One of the youth teams made it all the way to Durham where Professor Benedetta Cappellini looked after them well. Well done girls on making it so far. Tremendous effort!

Next up in our Youth Programme will be the second leg of our Wurzburg, Germany Youth Exchange which we are all very much looking forward to. Having visited Wurzburg last year with a group of 8 young people, it is now time to welcome a group of German young people to Scotland. This will happen in June and each and every Grey Lodge Settlement Youth Project participant will have the opportunity to be involved in this in some shape or form - e.g. Volunteering to lead events such as a Scottish Ceilidh and Highland Games or participating in the various trips we are planning - E.g. The trip to spot Nessie!

I’m sure as we make our way through this year, we will come up with many more ideas for Projects we wish to set up. Provided we manage to source that all important funding and we continue to fundraise internally too then our ideas may come to fruition and we will be in the position to achieve the goals we set ourselves.
